pet care

Marcel and a veterinarian struggle to hold two cats still for their vaccinations.

October always brings two things: Vaccines for me and vaccines for the cats. And pumpkins and spooky movies, but those don't matter right now.

Gigabyte and Millimeter are true angels and are never aggressive unless provoked. So it's a very stressful experience to put them through the process of being examined and stuck with a needle once a year. It's also heartbreaking to see how sluggish they are and how little appetite they have for about 24 hours after getting vaccinated. Poor babies. But it's for their own good, and I don't want them to get seriously ill.

This concludes this year's vaccination season.

Marcel raises his hands as Millimeter swats from a basket on a table.

I'm not sure if it's just a phase or if something happened, but she's very hard to read at the moment. One second, she's happily being brushed in her basket; the next, she swats at my hand because it's become too much for her. I don't know what's going on, especially because she still likes to be petted as much as ever. But she hasn't been properly brushed in about two weeks now, and I just hope she decides to let me do it again soon.

Marcel cleans cat litter boxes and prepares food while a cat joins him.

I painted this without a sketch, and it shows. Which is both a good and a bad thing at the same time.
